Cusco, Machu Picchu, Urubamba

Cusco, known as «the navel of the world» for its Quechua meaning, represents the center of the Inca empire. It's glorious past is partially mixed with the colonial Cuzco influence of the Spaniards and is still alive in Sacsayhuaman, Korikancha, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara, Tambo Machay, the Cathedral, the stone with 12 edges and a lotOllantaytambo more.

The city of Cusco was not the only one with a sacred character, the Vilcanota or Urubamba valley represents impressive examples of the construction work of the Incas, which have a mystical meaning. The most important cities of the valley are Pisac with its ruins and handicraft market, Yucay, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo with its famous ruins.
CuzcoDown the river, where highlands and forest get together, 120 km from Cusco, one of the greatest human creations emerges; Machu Picchu, the mysterious Inca citadel, that was never discovered by the Spaniards. At the base of the mountain a place called «Aguas Calientes» invites you to spend time and take a relaxed thermal bath, observe the orchid collection or do some trekking around toMachu Picchu observe nature. In order to get to Machu Picchu you have to take the train or walk, like the Incas did. And if you prefer to see less tourists during you trekking trip, there are other less popular trails.
Adventure lovers can find a variety of activities like rafting on the Urubamba river, paragliding, trekking to Choquequirao, mountain bike trips in the Urubamba valley or from Cusco to Manu and a lot more.
